Why We Built This Site
New Mexico recognizes broad public access to records through the Inspection of Public Records Act and court access rules, but San Juan County records are not held in one office. District Court handles felony, divorce, domestic relations, major civil, juvenile where public, and lower-court appeal files. Magistrate and Municipal Courts handle many misdemeanor, traffic, DWI/DUI, ordinance, landlord-tenant, and limited civil matters. The County Clerk records deeds, mortgages, marriage licenses, County Commission minutes, elections, voter-list work, and informal probate clerk functions.
The goal is practical routing. A person looking for a divorce decree should not spend time in the County Clerk's recorded-document index. A person looking for a deed should not begin with District Court. A person looking for a jail booking should use the Adult Detention Center detainee inquiry, not a case docket. The content here reflects those San Juan County distinctions.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. It has no connection to the Eleventh Judicial District Court, San Juan County government, the County Clerk, the Probate Judge, the Sheriff, the Adult Detention Center, New Mexico Courts, the New Mexico Department of Public Safety, or the New Mexico Motor Vehicle Division. There are real limits to what a reference site can do:
- We cannot file court paperwork or send records requests for anyone
- We cannot issue certified copies of court records, recorded documents, marriage licenses, or vital records
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific San Juan County case applies to a person
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, address, portal field, or office hour remains current at the moment of use
Only the court or government office that holds the record can issue an official certified copy with the proper seal or certification.
